Chaos!
Well, it has been nearly five years since I last took a college course, and I was worried how I would handle stepping back in the game. I am so excited to be doing this, but this week has been chaotic. I'm hoping I settle into a routine in the coming weeks. A little time management to help me juggle everything I want to do in my life. I want to try to get to some scrappy goodness this weekend, and Celeste and I have a little Valentine mailbox we want to decorate, so check back to see our lovely creations!-XO

The Weekend
I'm a bit sick this weekend, so I'm feelin' up to a whole lotta nothin'! I took some pictures to play around with my new camera, I love it! I also did a couple of scrapbook pages, the "What I Love About You" is this weeks sketch at sketchinspirations.ning.com. School starts on Monday, so I hope I will have the time to keep up with her weekly sketches over there... otherwise I will stockpile my photos for a huge spring break scrap-a-thon, lol! -XO

A Day Off
It is so nice to have an extra day off once in a while. The problem is, I usually don't know what to do with it! Celeste wants to play with her friend, so we will probably do that. I also have some random errands that have been on the back burner I may do today. Maybe even a little time to check out some vintage shops for some more awesome decor... can't wait to see where my fun day takes me! - XO

So Sweet
Today miss Celeste was so sweet. We went out for lunch, and *gasp* she was so good! Afterwards we went to the thrift store. We were looking through the children's books and I read a sign that said kids ages 3-12 can receive a free book. So I told Celeste she could pick out a book and she was so absolutely excited, it was too cute! She was skipping out of the store saying, "I get a free book 'cuz I'm a kid"!

So Tired

Hope this does it!
I made reorganizing and sort-of decorating my office my unofficial goal this weekend. I feel like I have been in a creative rut in this little studio I have, it was so chaotic I would think "yuck" and just want to leave. How can I relax and create in a space that is so blah? So I went through all my supplies, sorting out what I don't use into a drawer for Celeste to use at will. I also reorganized my scrap papers and embellishments. It is a lot easier to create when I can find stuff! I also put up some artwork that had just been stacked in my closet waiting for frames. They still need frames, but I need color on the walls and I can't afford to paint. Everything on the wall is either Celeste's or my own artwork. It also made me realize I need to paint more, not just scrap! All of these works of art were completed prior to 2006, and the lovely lady on the easel, she is over a decade old and still incomplete! Oh my, guess I better get to creating! So all told, I spent $4 to buy curtain rods and hang up these panels that were in my closet. Most important ly, I feel happy, and at ease in my little studio now, and can't wait to start some new projects!
As for the rest of my house, well, lets say thats my unofficial goal next weekend ; )----XO

Finally some time to create
Yesterday, I finally got some time to do a couple of scrapbook pages. I love how the Summer Rain Layout turned out. I love how the colors play off her bathing suit so perfectly, but most of all I love the memories it evokes. Here in the desert, rain is a rarity, and a warm summer rain is utter delight. Nothing is as fun as dancing in the rain, and nothing cools you off in the middle of summer like just standing in the rain letting yourself get soaked. I remember absolutely loving this as a kid, and I am so happy Celeste got to experience it this past summer.
Lately Celeste has been throwing fits about "not looking cute" when she wears certain clothes. I thought it was funny she was so concerned about her appearance at such a young age. Then, this morning, I remembered how I was similar at her age. I used to wear certain clothes because they made me feel pretty, like I only liked socks with lace ruffles on them, or how I would only wear T-shirts with leggings. So, I've decided to smile, take pictures, and let her experiment. Unless we have somewhere nice to go, of course ;)-XO
