Happy Mother's Day!

Just wanted to take a moment to say happy Mother's Day to all you mommies out there. We are truly blessed but also have made many sacrifices for our children, and we wouldn't have any other way. We are so awesome! We took a trip to Ikea last weekend. I love love love that place! I wanted to share some pictures of what we've done lately. I love having a new bed, and I got the duvet cover from Ikea along with the paper lantern lamp, it casts a lovely and flattering glow. The cube shelf is also from Ikea at an amazing $99, it is in my office. I want to eventually find some pretty storage boxes to hide some of the clutter, but for now it is functional. -XO

We have been doing some exciting things around the house, I can't wait until it all comes together so I can share some pictures. I have finally gotten my dream dining table, rich dark mahogany, pedestal and it fits perfectly in the room while still seating six! I picked up these lovely turquoise place mats to bring a little spring time color into the room. I love it, the turquoise with the orange and plum walls and the bright fun yellow flower pot. I would so feel at home in the Mediterranean.
Oh, and that last one, we decided to dig a moat. Just Kidding! We had to dig a trench for the barrier that separates our lawn from the flower beds that will soon be there. I prefer to show finished product, but we are working so hard, we want to show progress!!

Easter Pics, Wishing for Spring

Just wanted to share some pictures from Easter really quick. We are so tired of being cold! I really want to go a whole day without goosebumps or needing a sweatshirt!

Last night Celeste and I made a cake together, vanilla with home made whipped cream for the frosting. Oh so delicious! I have a big assignment due and I have been working on it for three hours now, Celeste fell asleep, so I just wanted to say a quick hello before I have to go cook dinner!

Celeste is off track for school for the next month. It is weird, being a product of traditional school myself, to have only a month off at a time. While she is off track I have her enrolled in a daycare because my job never goes off track. I guess it's nice to not have to pay for three full months, but instead a month every three. Definitly easier on my budget. So yesterday was a pajama day at her daycare, and as I got her dressed, I took off her shirt and she rubbed her self saying, "I have freckles all over." I replied, "You mean you have goosebumps?", and she said, "No, then I'd be goosey." I just thought it was so cute I had to share!

Today I was driving out to my Mom's and the hills are covered in green. It is so pretty! It won't last long, the heat of the desert sun will scorch these weeds into the brown dismal landscape we typically have, but it was a really nice change of pace! I am so excited for spring to finally be here, we did a little bit of spring cleaning this weekend. We went through our closets and organized and purged.  I want to get some seeds started indoors, so I am collecting TP rolls for little seed starter pots. I also got some cute felt butterfly, egg and tulip decorations at the dollar store. We are so ready for warmth!

But, that being said I am having a good time, slowly coming out of my "I'm too overwhelmed fo my own life" funk. Had a good birthday with love from family and friends, and I just wanted to say hello real quick. I have a political science research paper due monday, so that's what I'm up to this weekend!-XO
